Just last week I was browsing through a piece in Home Business and found about this thing I had never heard of before called a skype phone. These two are now rich beyond their wildest expectations because of selling their brainwave to one of the premier sites on the web,e bay. What am I talking about. Many know it as skype. It is not a new idea, making long distance calls over the internet for free.
So all you have is rig up a phone to your computer and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe.Saying that though it is not all plain sailing as a slow connection will be of no use to you.Fantastic pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.
So I went on Ebay and guess what, they are flogging phones already due to skyp.Skype is going to be massive from the number of downloads we have witnessed since 2004.
Due to Skypes huge success big commercial telephone companies are trying to get a foothold in the marketplace. All the telecom experts are watching voip closely thinking that maybe it will crash and burn. Will the world wide web spell the end for voice over ip.
If previous experience is anything to go by then we can expect the big players to look at voip in minute detail. The government will undoubtedly see the potential and want to add money to their coffers by using voip.At the moment skype makes its money by charging people who phone land lines from their laptop using it.
It seems like voice over interet protocol is also at the forefront of web video conferencing as well. With 911 happenning in the not too distant past more people want to travel less and less so it is a great opportunity for voip to put video conferencing back on the map.
Audio and video are becoming possible for everyone nowadays-in this day and age especially with the massive success of youtube. Many people think video and audio will be a passing fad but all the evidence points to the contrary.
But one thing is for sure, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download. We'll see in the next few years.
